Faculty & Personal Development - 2013

Faculty Development - Courses Offered within AIPOD
While teaching at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division (AIPOD) in 2013, I attended multiple faculty development sessions and conferences offered by the Educational Services Department. Options to earn development hours are posted within the school’s Faculty Commons either as video tutorials or as PDFs to download. These opportunities were also e-mailed to faculty members on a monthly basis. These topics include Cultural Diversity in the Online Classroom, Effective Learning, Generations in the Classroom, Leadership in the Online Classroom, Teaching Millennial Students Online, and many more.
Personal Development - Courses Offered within AIPOD
I attended an online webinar with Koci Studios, which was titled "10 Steps to Becoming a Master Video Storyteller". This was a key webinar for me because during this past year, I began teaching PH350: Time Based Media, which is a heavy video based course.
Faculty & Personal Development - Course with Cinnamon wolfe
At the end of January, I took an individual course (2 hours) with photographer Cinnamon Wolfe to learn more about website design using Squarespace and SEO. This course was vital not only to my own photography business but I was also able to pass on the information to my students to assist them with their own businesses.
